Volunteer Orientation Training

Interested in volunteering at the Swampscott Senior Center or learning about and utilizing the Swampscott/Veteran Tax Work Off Program? Come join us for an orientation where we will discuss your interests and introduce our available opportunities. We also have additional volunteer opportunities throughout the community. Volunteers are a vital part of the Swampscott Senior Center. There are many volunteer opportunities at the Swampscott Senior Center.
For example:

  • Front Desk
  • Kitchen Help
  • Special Events
  • Shopping Escorts
  • Bingo Callers
  • Instructors-Do you have a hobby or skill you’d like to share with others?

Volunteer Orientation are scheduled periodically

Swampscott Tax Work Off Program

The Senior/Veteran’s Work-Off Abatement Program pairs Town of Swampscott Departments with residents who can assist with year-round or one-off special project needs. In return, senior and veteran residents receive a credit toward their property tax bill. For more information, please contact Jody Watts at Swampscott Town Hall at 781-596-8850.

Volunteer appointments are subject to a Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) check.

Other additional volunteer opportunities

Seaglass Village is a non-profit organization helping older adults remain safely in their homes.  Vetted volunteers assist members with driving, household chores and companionship. Please check out their website to learn more.

ElderAct Club of Marblehead and Swampscott is arm of the respective Rotary Clubs.  Older Adults meet bimonthly to plan a large variety of service projects throughout the North Shore area.  All are welcome!
