Climate Change Action Committee

A group of concerned Senior Center members and staff have joined forces with the Swampscott Public Health Department to address pressing issues related to Climate ChangeOur group’s goals are to educate the community about the effects of climate change and to promote easy positive steps that everyone can take to reduce their environmental impactAdditionally, our group is exploring ways to promote individual and community composting and we hope to initiate a composting program at the Swampscott Senior Center.

The Climate Change Action Committee is part of a collaboration between the Swampscott Public Health Department and the Swampscott Senior Center.   We are following a Short Term Action Team (STAT) model which involves time-limited, focused work resulting in implementable change.  Climate Change is the first of several issues that this collaboration will tackle, and we invite anyone in the community who is interested to be a part of our projects.
